What Is Eye Refractive Surgery/Treatment?
Refractive treatments aim to reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses by reshaping the front of the eye (cornea) with laser, or by placing a lens inside the eye. These procedures are performed with numbing eye drops and are typically day-care procedures. Your doctor will confirm suitability after detailed eye measurements (corneal thickness/shape, tear film, prescription stability, pupil size, and retinal health).
Common vision issues treated: short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism.

Note: Not everyone is suitable for every procedure; the safest choice depends on your individual eye structure and needs.
Why LASIK & What Options Exist
Why consider LASIK or refractive surgery? Convenience for daily activities, freedom from fogging lenses, and the possibility of clearer unaided vision. Results and recovery differ by technique and by person.
